EZIO ZACCAGNINI "Zac"


Ezio "Zac" Zaccagnini was born in Naples on 16 September 1962. Ezio has been living in Rome for 28 years.

He is a self-instructed musician, and started working in the Italian music industry at just 20. He has taken part in Italian and international tours

(with Morandi from 1992 to 1998 - Italian and world tour with more than 400 shows), with Ranieri in 2001-2005 (450 SHOWS) with De Andre’ in 1993, and with Battiato, Giorgia, Mory Kante, Cheb Khaled, Biagio Antonacci, Gianni Togni, Antonello Salis, Monsieur o’ Pale, Ron, Lucio Dalla, Gigi Proietti, Company Segundo (in the RAI show conducted by Massimo Ranieri), Marco Armani, Mauro Di Domenico’s band, Antonella Ruggiero AND OTHERS.

He has also played in several TV shows including Domenica In, Festivalbar, Roxy Bar, Help, Unomattina, Citofonare Calone, Morandi show (12 MILLION AUDIENCE), and others.
He has worked with the following maestros and arrangers:

Toto Torquati, Geoff Westley, Claudio Mattone, Beppe Vessicchio, Thierry Mathiosek (Velvet Underground), Mauro Pagani, Claudio Samale (S.Cecilia), Migliacci, Mario Zanini, Euro Ferrari, Lilli Greco, Andrea Amati etc.

He loves teaching the drums and attending drum-clinics, around Italian music schools.

He has taken part in several kermesses and television shows such as the May 1st Live Concert at San Giovanni in Rome, "Festivalbar" (Italia 1), "Un disco per l'estate" (Canale 5), "Help!" and "Roxy Bar" by Red Ronnie (Tmc 2), "Tarattattà" (Rai2), "Top Of The Pops" and others

From 2005 he leads the ZAC IN PROGRESS with whom he has recorded the CD "ZIP A TRIP AROUND THE WORLD" published by 2008th ApBeat record
He has founded the trio "TRIBUTE JACO PASTORIUS" with JACOPO FERRAZZA AND GIOSI CINCOTTI and has produced their first CD FOR ALPHAMUSIC RECORD
Besides his activity as an instrumentalist, ZAC is fairly active as a teacher of drums and music theory and collaborates with many famous drummers in clinics and workshops
